If your refrigerator is not functioning as expected, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve common issues. This guide helps identify problems related to cooling, noise, power, and more.

1. Refrigerator Not Cooling Properly

Possible Causes:

  • Does not cool

  • Temperature settings too high

  • Blocked air vents

  • Dirty condenser coils

  • Door not closing properly

Steps to Resolve:

  1. Turn temperature dial to off or zero, unplug Unit, leave unit unplugged for 3-4 hours, ,plug into outlet after 3-4 hours, ensure no other products are plugged into same outlet. Turn dial up to highest level (7) then let it sit for 2-3 hours before checking.

  2. Check and adjust the temperature settings. Ideal setting: 37°F (3°C) for fridge, 0°F (-18°C) for freezer.

  3. Ensure vents inside the fridge are not blocked by food items.

  4. Clean condenser coils (located at the back or underneath the unit) using a coil brush or vacuum.

  5. Inspect the door seal for gaps or damage; clean it to ensure a tight seal.

2. Refrigerator Not Powering On

Possible Causes:

  • Power supply issue

  • Faulty power cord

  • Tripped circuit breaker

Steps to Resolve:

  1. Make sure the power cord is securely plugged into a functioning outlet.

  2. Test the outlet with another appliance to confirm it’s working.

  3. Check your home’s circuit breaker box and reset if necessary.

  4. Inspect the power cord for visible damage.

3. Unusual Noises

Possible Causes:

  • Fridge not level

  • Items vibrating inside

  • Normal operation sounds (compressor or fan)

Steps to Resolve:

  1. Make sure the refrigerator is level on the floor.

  2. Rearrange contents so items aren’t touching internal walls or each other.

  3. Identify if the sound is normal (short hums or clicks are typical). If persistent, contact Galanz Customer support team.

4. Water Leakage

Possible Causes:

  • Blocked defrost drain

  • Cracked or overflowing drip pan

  • Faulty water filter or inlet valve

Steps to Resolve:

  1. Check the defrost drain (usually at the back of the fridge) and clear any blockages.

  2. Empty and clean the drip pan underneath the unit.

  3. Inspect the water filter for proper installation; replace if necessary.
